Frequently asked questions.

Is Therapy with Fisa covered by Medicare?

No, unfortunately medicare does not yet cover Psychotherapy / Psychotherapists. While this is a private service, often times Therapy With Fisa fees end up being less than other psychologists’ gap fees.

We have packages and payment plans available to make your service more practical and affordable.

Is there a wait time?

Often times the wait time may be up to a week.

It is important to note that there may be a wait time depending on the day, the hours, and the frequency that work for your schedule. Once we have a chat this can be quickly worked out

What’s the difference between a psychologist and a psychotherapist?

Psychotherapists cannot diagnose you, however, we can treat you for majority of the common disorders, circumstances, and challenges. If you are not within Therapy with Fisa’s scope we will inform you ASAP and provide you with options that are more appropriate for your needs.

Psychotherapists are not covered by medicare, and are not regarded as specialists by government bodies - they prefer psychologists for reports and particular assessments e.g. for courts, for ADHD or AUTISM Spectrum etc.

Psychotherapy has a different study path - starting with psychology bachelors and then a 2 years Masters with a smaller research portion than psychology, this makes psychologists more specialised.
